Under the leadership of the Association of Friends of the Lubumbashi Zoo (AZLU), chaired by Mrs. Lydia Forrest, Lubumbashi’s zoo offers you great alternative for family outings and school field trips.
Discover more than 60 different species of animals: lions, tigers, zebras, chimpanzees, impalas, reptiles and tropical birds, in a superb park of 30 hectares of greenery where are thriving several varieties of trees and plants. During a two-hour walk along paved and marked paths, you will have the opportunity to observe the animals, right there in front of you, moving gracefully, climbing with ease and revealing the beautiful colors of their feathers. Considered today as one of the most beautiful zoos in Africa, this idyllic setting of leisure, relaxation and education will enable you to discover the lifestyles of animals and their relationship to the environment. On a more serious note, you will also learn more about the species’ status and the threat they are currently facing.
