LEBO IS THE SOUTH AFRICAN MODEL WHO WANTS TO MOVE MOUNTAINS! FULL OF BEANS SHE PROVES US THAT BRAINS ARE THE NEW SEXY! WE REVEAL EVERYTHING IN HER INTERVIEW!

Who are you and where do you come from?

My name is Lebohang Mlumkisi,

I was born and raised in Cape Town in a small town called Lower Cross Road with my 3 siblings. We were raised by a single parent, my mother.  I don’t come from a wealthy family, but would not say that we are poor because we always worked hard to afford our living.

My mother plays huge rule in my life, being raised by single pa-rent made me a stronger woman than I could ever imagine.  She is always there for me and motivates me when I want to give up. I am the person that I am today because of her.  We don’t have much but she has always made our home feel like home with a loving, caring atmosphere.

Why modeling and how did you get scouted?

I had always dreamed of becoming a model, but never dared to try the experience.  I was afraid to walk into an agency; I was frightened that they would say that I don’t have what it takes to become a model.   I was approached when shopping with my mom and haven’t looked back!

Was modeling something you’ve always wanted to do and is it a career you wish to pursue?

Yes, modeling is something I’ve always wanted to do, I love every moment of it!   This is definitely a career I wish to pursue.   My dream is to travel the world.  I would love to walk in run way shows in Milan, New York City, Paris etc. I hope to be the first black model from South Africa to walk in Victoria’s Secret shows.

Any tip to the girls who dream of becoming models?

Find an agency that believes in you 100 %.   Do your research, make sure the agency that represents you is reputable and recognized by clients.

I would like to emphasize on the fact that if you are studying, you have to continue with your studies.  I’m still studying doing Hu-man Resources at university and I plan on completing my studies and getting my Degree.  Education is very important; it is always good to have something to fall back on.

Your point of view and importance of being a strong independent woman in our actual society?

It is important to be able to handle situations on your own, you need to be independent in order to survive. You have to be able to recognize, shape and build off your own strengths and weaknesses. You have to come to the realization when you lie down at night that the only person who will never let you down, is yourself. The only person who holds the reigns to your life is you. Other people in your life like a boyfriend, friends, family etc. will enhance who you are, make you smile, be champions in your life, but they will never help you discover who you are as a woman.

Most exciting shoot you’ve done?
