Betu Kumesu is the founder, CEO and creative director of Kumesu, a luxury eco-conscious brand. She agreed to answer our questionnaire “à la Proust”.
My name is Tshiongo Wiederkehr, Bampangila Betu Kumesu. I am the youngest of a family of ten children. I was born in Kinshasa, where I lived until I was 13. After studying Management and a Master in Business Administration in Lausanne, I joined Deloitte in Geneva in 2003, where I worked as an analyst for ten years, while developing a particular interest in fashion. I decided to launch my own business in 2015 by creating Kumesu Leather which is a luxury bag brand. This was the beginning of an exhilarating journey in which we have since developed a beautiful collection of handbags.
